You're probably correct that the cubs will be killed by an "adult male"; it remains to be see exactly what species of adult male does it though. My bet is that it will be a human.
To clarify, I'm not remotely sympathetic toward the chucklehead that shot the two bears last summer, I'm just saying that it was probably inevitable. You get this many bears together with this many people, all competing for the same resource... it's just a matter of time until you have conflict. The huge number of salmon carcasses in the river don't help much either, however we've had carcasses in our salmon rivers for generations before people ever fished here. Anyway, it wouldn't surprise me to see something happen this summer. Again.
