Father's 70th Bday wish; Please help
Posted by Slowpoke on Apr 28 2006
Hi there. My dad is hitting the big 70 and all his adult life he has wanted to go fishing in Alaska. I am in the military and it took me a while to save up but this is finally the year I can afford to take him fishing in Alaska. The trip is booked for 21-29 June.
We are limited to the Juneau area so any help with this area on where to fish would be wonderful. No need to give secret spots, general areas would be fine. We will have a rental car and could travel a ways. We are looking for areas to fish that have access from driving by car. We will be bringing our own spinning rods and use Rooster tails as lures unless better lure selection is given.
My dad would like to river/stream fish for about anything that would bite. If we could find a charter within our price range he would also love to catch a Halibut. This will probably be his only chance to fish in Alaska so I am trying to make it a trip he will remember. Any suggestions you could give to help me make his dream come true would really be appreciated. You may email me at email@example.com if you do not want to announce to the world the advice you give. Thanks. Would you suggest hip waders also?
