black bass
Posted by wildog on Apr 19 2006
If you get lucky you will see black bass surfacing in a large school, I think they are feeding on crab plankton or something like that.  The school can be as big as a football field and you can cast into then on the surface and hook up every cast.  Then suddenly they all disappear down deeper sometimes, but you can still drop down and hook them.  It's a blast, and you kind of have to get lucky to run into those, I've done it a bunch of times.  Other than that you find them the same places you find other rockfish.  Have fun.
