Fishing in June

Hi,
I've been fishing twice on the Kenai Peninsula, once during the first two weeks in July and once during the second and third weeks of July. Is it worth coming in June instead? Would I catch as much fish? If so when is the best time to come. I'm very fond of smoked king salmon. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I have currently planned the third and fourth weeks of July, but would be willing to change to June.
