idea
Posted by Charholio on Apr 16 2006
First, perspective.  I have two pots that have never hit the water, so my idea is theory only.  But I've thought alot about what the best way to do this might be.

How about using floating line, run it through the hole on the bouy with one end going to the pot(s), the other end having a weight attached, say 16 oz.  This way the bouy would float but the weight would keep the exess line sunk.  As the tide ebbed or flowed, the bouy would simply slide on the line adjusting for the change in depth.  It could be that the 16 oz weight might tangle a little with the rope on the other side of the bouy, but if you toss it out away from the bouy it might not.  Current flow would tend to push it away from the rope on the other side of the bouy.  ?
