Go early

Your best bet will be to go on the first few days it is open.  Once the escapement numbers start jumping up they start with the commercial "emergency openings" that you can't plan for.  When the commercial guys are fishing you might as well stay home.  If you are lucky enough to hit it when they are dry, fish will be everywhere even if it isn't peak season.  My buddy and I got 92 in about 4 hrs. Then again we got 12 in 13 hrs. the next year when we got screwed by an "emergency opening".  You can find the scheduled openings on the ADF&G website.
