yes, blackcod are the same as sablefish, occasionally marketed outside as "butterfish". great food fish, one of the only fish that is more oil than protein.
as far as i know, the only other fish in the family is the skilfish, which is a huge rare fish up to #100 or more. they look like blackcod only chunkier, and lighter with darker blotches.
lingcod are related niether to ling or true cod, but are the largest member of the greenling family. greenling are often called "seatrout" on the west coast.
