July Trip
Posted by alaskanfishguides on Nov 07 2005
For your trip to Alaska in July, I recommend the Kenai Peninsula.  Here you will find unlimited fishing opportunities, particularly in July.  Thinking especially of the unguided angler, I recommend fishing for King Salmon on the Kasilof at Crooked Creek; Red Salmon on the Kenai and Russian; Silver Salmon in Resurrection Bay (Seward), Trout on many of the streams (check regulations) or lakes (most accessible lakes are stocked), and grayling at Crescent Lake.  You will need a boat (probably a guide) to fish for halibut in Cook Inlet.

Alaskan Author has great advice for the unguided Alaskan fishing trip to buy as many books as you can, learn as much about Alaska and fishing before you come.  Also, unless you will be driving a RV, I recommend that you make lodging reservations very soon.

This forum is also a great resource about where, when and how.

I posted information about salmon run timing, statistical data, fishing tips and general information about Alaska on my web site http://www.alaskanfishguides.com ; Stop in and take a look.  (No pressure intended... I believe that there are enough fish for everyone... ) Good luck.  The more time you spend planning now will generate huge returns on your fishing success...
