Halibut Skate Line
Posted by Fish Witch on Nov 06 2005
I found 1/4" nylon "goldline" the best for small boat operation.  It falls off the pinch block easy and flakes into a garbage can real easy without having to punch it down all the time.  If you have a reel, that's a different story, but if you stow your line in buckets or garbage cans, it's the easiest to handle.  Just don't try to coil it or you'll get tangles.  It won't tangle if you flake it in right.  You can adjust most pinch blocks down to take the 1/4" and even 1/2" poly OK.
