I know a place that fits the bill
Posted by fishrman on Jun 12 2003
When I planned my first Alaska trip everything I read said that you can't stay at a lodge without breaking the bank. I too was looking for a remote place to fish near Anchorage. I was warned that there was no such thing as  no frills lodges and it takes a year to plan an Alaskan trip. Well it wasn't easy and I spend a good amount of time networking with people and surfing online, but there are many affordable fishing vacations out there. This is my fifth year going to Alaska and I have been to three great lodges all within 100 miles of Anchorage, next year I'm looking into camping in some nearby spots. The last place I went to is the Chuit River Lodge. Look into it. If this doesn't suit your tastes or budget email and I send you some more info on local lodges.
