Remote fishing.....

ledten, the problem with inexpensive and remote isn't in the lodging so much as in the travel.  For those of us that live in the state, there is no such thing as "drive to" remoteness.  And, most of the drive to's can be pretty crowded.

There are some options like Mahays Riverboat Service out of Talkeetna, or, better yet, going on a 4 or 5 day float trip with a rafting company that specializes in the experiences.  When you weigh in all that they provide, including a gun in camp, wilderness first aid skills, food, and of course, endless fishing in endless daylight, the cost becomes quite fair.
