What you have going for you is that you are in the shoulder season and acommodations can be had even on the fly.

No mater what you wind up doing (hunt or fish) once you determine the area you are going to be in, cruise the motels and check for vacancy in the earlier part of the day and then lock-in. You might be surprised and I wish you good luck.
