me lost bunny ;)
Posted by TradBow on Aug 09 2005
If it was on a gammy it wasn't mine.  I only had one bunny fly on the gammy, the rest were 34007 or 34011 mustads.  Btw, DONT use these hooks, these latest hooks seem to be much softer in steel then what I originally remember.  Maybe I am liking the gamagatsu's to much.  I did find an up turned salmon hook I like the looks of (also by gamagatsu) and it's spooky sharp and better steel.  Bent a few similar style hooks using popsicles fishing coho's on the little willow last weekend.  Btw, rabiduex was FULL of coho's.  Did ok till they turned off.  Much better fly fishing them there then the hardware guys.  Hardware worked ok however it seemed to really spook them. Bait on a bobber would be the ticket as the fish were holding in tight groups, be a great place to taking a youngster.  Some were starting to turn, with lots of bright fish around still. Go to the mouth, head upstream a couple hundred yards and start watching the west bank.  The trail (on the east side of the slough) will take you up to the narrows where you should be able to cross, LOTS of fish! Bring a canoe and float it, makes for some fun fishing!

We also did well on chums, some really bright HUGE chums at the mouth of little willow and also willow.  Floated by and no one was around so we stopped to fish one of the mouths of willow.  You'd think you were snagging them the way the chums were fighting, much better then coho's, but low and behold they were taking it and going bezerks!!!

I keep hearing about these spankers, just what in sam heck are they?  a pic or a recipe?
