Hey Tradbow, did you lose something?

Tradbow, you wrote last week:

"The only thing I can say about choice of tackle is anything fuschia with a unweighted fuschia bunny fly and some pearl kyrstal flash being tops (that goes for kings silvers and chums!). I managed to break a 3/0 hook along with bending another, one of them was a gamagatsu."

Well, my man, I found the other half of your broken gamagatsu fuschia bunny. You can have it back for the right price ;^)

Wading off the point of the bar, set the hook on one that immdeiately broke me off on that submerged tree...said a few choice words and looked down to see a fuschia bunny right between my feet in a couple feet of water...hmmm, missing the business end of the hook, I must be in the right spot, lol.

I had no fuschia, but a red zonker looked pretty close in the water. Nothing doing with that. Tried a hot pink unweighted bunny...wouldn't even look at that, tried an ESL...still nothing doing (sight casting in the slower water with all of em). Tied on a pink spanker and started swinging it through the seam of the main current and the slack water and that was the ticket. Had fun for the rest of the evening until I left the last one I had in the mouth of a zombie rocket screaming upstream.

5wt was a riot. Made casting those big honkin flies an ugly affair (and made sight fishing challenging to say the least) but once they were hooked it was a blast. I figure if I break it, I'll have an excuse for a new one.

Next: me lost bunny ;) TradBow Aug 09 2005
