Death by fishing line...
Posted by AlaskanAuthor on Aug 08 2005
Bait Boy's post touches on area that is sometimes overlooked by some anglers, and that is the issue of discarded line. None of us can escape it. At one time or another, we generate line that is of no use to us. Unfortunately, some anglers merely cast it aside with no other thought to it.

Discarded line kills. The gull is a classic example. In my area, Florida, it's a big problem. Line takes out gulls, pelicans, and even turtles.

I'm not trying to preach, but at the end of my fishing days in Alaska every time I peel off my waders or boots I find my stuffed-in trailings waiting for me to be discarded in a safe way...
