Fishing- Inside Passage Fishing
Posted by cholmes on Aug 03 2005
I will be in SE Alaska on an inside passage cruise the first week in September (05)

I'm looking to do some fishing while on port stops.  It looks like Juneau and Skagway are going to be my best choices (14 hours in Juneau, 11.5 in Skagway)

I'm thinking of doing a fly-out flyfishing stream/river trip in Juneau and am wondering if salmon will still be available at that time? (silvers I assume)

Also, what would be my best bet in Skagway?

Any info and charter recommendations will be appreciated.  I am an experienced fisherman and an outdoor writer here in Louisiana.  This is my first trip to Alaska and due to it being a cruise (gotta keep the other half happy too) my fishing opportunities are limited and I want to make the most of them.

Any information is sincerely appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris Holmes
