Posted by Brian Richardson on Aug 02 2005 Was up running the Happy River (a whitewater canyoning exclusive & not fishing)out of Rainy Pass this week, and the take out is the same place on the Skwentna as your Tal trip. The Tal is quite low right now. The Skwentna Glacier water has backed up the clearer mouth of the Tal about a 1/4 mile. I also flew over the Tal en route & will say - yes it's low but easy doable. While I guess it has been raining some in Anchorage - up towards the Tal... Skwentna, Hayes & Happy rivers it has been hot & sunny trends for weeks w/ predictable yet short rain or hail breaks.
