Heckman
Posted by BTK on May 25 2005
AHP, I fished the Naha several times and had a blast. I spent most of time around jordan lake. When river high I could find no good trail from Heckman upstream but Heckman to salt water was great. You may be able to hike river up from Heck. The trail is just far enough from river/creek to be secluded.  I waded the river in many places. Plenty of Cutts and Bows up to 15" in river and larger in lakes. I was spin fishing. Make sure pinks aren't in too much as they plug the river. Lots of black bear. Cabins should have skiffs and most had oars. River not boatable. Are you flying or boating in? Are you from AK?  The area gets a fair amount of pressure at cabins, and people hike up from boats as there is a Very nice dock at mouth. I would enjoy going again.
