unique solution for rods on planes
Posted by Glenwood on May 17 2005
Last summer my wife, I and two sons brought 8 rods on the plane.  We put them in a wheeled golf club travel case.  We also put three duffel bags of clothing (which were the approximate diameter of the case) for the boys in the golf case.  The duffel bags went in first and then we put the 8 rod cases around the bags.  This way the rod cases didn't bang on each other and the boys could open up and access one of the duffle bags without taking all the bags out.  It worked great.  It hauled a lot of stuff in a safe and convenient manner.  When we got to the float plane they just took out and loaded the small duffles and rods, threw them in the float plane and saved the hard case at their office for our return.
