GPS - phones
Posted by cross21114 on May 14 2005
I do not think that the term GPS on phones means that you can use your phone as a GPS.  I believe that GPS enabled phones means that the phone company can track your location for emergency purposes in case you call 911.  This is coming but do not think it is univeral.

As far as GPSs for fishing, there are many uses.  If used in conjuction with blue tooth or similar, you can use it to navigate with all marine markings, depth findings, wrecks, etc.  You can mark successful fishing spots.  If you have a problem and have a way of communicating, you can provide exact location coordinates.

Always have a compass and backup chart in cae the GPS fries.
