This is what I found out...
Posted by Daniel in Ak on May 14 2005
The bridge over the Chhitina where all the fish wheels are located and down river is open to the public.Up river where the fish wheels are located is the Glenallen dipnetting area.
Also at O'Brian Creek you can drive all theway down there and past that which is open, except that DOT says it's closed because of the landslide and they do not plan on working on it this year.
Now at the O'Brian access he pulled a book out showing pictures and the access is like this....From the road maybe a 1/4 way to the river is where they put up a concrete barracade. But from there up the creek where the camping area was also,is still open to parking and camping. Now from the barricade mid way to the river is native owned.
So it is open and the fish counting has not begun yet.And I plan on being down there June 1st when it opens up.Daniel
