Rod transport and Alaska Airlines
Posted by George Riddle on May 13 2005
All good suggestions here, the best is to take them as carry on. Also if you are traveling in state (Alaska), Alaska Airlines has different regs as "in state" you are allowed three checked bags less than 50 lbs. This is not for anywhere but in the state of Alaska and on Alaska Airlines NOT their affiliates. So, if you need to pick up groceries or can hold off until in state to acquire items this may be helpful. Also mail items to your destination. I have a do-it-yourself fishing lodge and my guests bring their own food. What I have them do is mail the dry goods to me at least a month a head of time and pick up the perishables in Anchorage. Just a thought and what I have come up with living in the state since 1965. Hope it helps. Tight lines,
