We make 4 or 5 trips a year. This has been on Alaska Airlines. I now leave the rods I need in Cordova. I think it just depends who you get at check in. We also check in our guns [$50.00 a case], they can be at most times much eaiser then rods to check in. I think it all depends where you fly out of. We come out of Reno, NV most of the time. Flying with fishing rods was never an issue for us till this last fishing season and the agents were helpful, not now!!
