McDonald Lake, Yes Bay Area
Posted by Say What on Mar 20 2005
Is anyone familiar with the McDonald lake, Wolverine Creek area in the Misty Fiord section of the Tongass? I'm staying at the McDonald Lake cabin in late July. Looking forward to fly fishing the Wolverine and McDonald Lake as well as the rest of the immediate area. I understand there is excellent fishing for Bows, Cutthroat and Dolly Varden. Several species of salmon too.

Does anyone have any experience of the area, the cabin, the fly fishing, the wildlife? I hear the Brown Bear population is not as prolific as in to the north? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's my first Alaskan trip!

Also, does anyone recommend a good flight service into the cabin from Ketchikan?

Thanks in advance...
