October silvers
Posted by Kid on Oct 16 2004
Thanks AK author,  I just got back from AK, caught a 25" steelie in the Anchor and you are right the silvers have slowed down but are still present in the Buskin.  I fished at lake outlet, there were a lot of fish in there Friday but not striking aggressively.  I fair hooked one on a little green sockeye fly I got last year in Cordova. It was easily the largest silver I have ever caught, it was red but I was C&R anyway that day.   Also some nice dollies around. Biggest thrill was watching a large harbor seal hunt and take a spawned out silver near mouth of Buskin. You can really tell the peak high tide by the seals and their behavior.   Regards,    Kid
