Delta Silvers
Posted by bakerb on Sep 26 2004
Ron,

I flew down to Delta Junction on Sat as well.  I flew up and scoped out the river before landing.  True, there are not lots of Silvers in the river yet, but there were a few.

I fished for about 4 hours above the boat landing.  About 1/2 the time was spent fishing for Silvers.  I was able to catch about a dozen.  The rest of my time was spent drifting an egg pattern behind those Silvers where I was able to catch around 20 big, fat Grayling up to about 18 inches.  I am convinced that there are 20 inch Grayling in the river, but I have never caught one.  I have caught a few at 19, but can't quite stretch out that extra inch.

In either case, there are Silvers in the river.  Snow on the ground too!

Good luck!

Benjamin K. Baker
