halibut
Posted by Bill S. on Aug 12 2004
I have taken halibut charters from Homer, Deep crek, Seward and Whittier.  The best success with the biggest fish has been Deep Creek, then Homer.  I have never personnally done well from Seward but I know I lot of people that have.  I've started going out of Whittier.  I can drive from Anchorage in the morning, fish all day and be back home by about 9.  It saves me gas and camping money going down to Deep Creek.  I'll definitely go out of Deep Creek again, but most of the time, its Whittier.  Riptide Charters has a good operation there.  907 632-0360
