Too small of a boat for Schooner Rock
Posted by fisher on Aug 10 2004
I've spent a lot of time out there. The weather changes fast, and it can change locally. I'd be very, very nervous out there in anything less than a 30' boat. Sure, it's not that big of water when you can do 35 knots, but I've crossed it at 8 knots (in the summer) with 8 foot white caps. There are too many small boats going too far. That is how someone will get killed.
