Have you also notice how bad this picture is.  This has got to be one of the poorest quality pictures that I've seen on a magazine cover in a long time.  The picture is very pixelated.  Their is two possible explanations:
1. They took this picture with a sub-par digital camera but since it was such a beautiful fish, they put it on the cover anyway.

or

2. The picture was fine when it was taken (most professional photographers wouldn't use this bad of a camera after all) but was later altered to make it appear pixelated so to cover up the evidence of snagging.
