Good news to hear a report that silvers are showing closer to Whittier.  Are you sure they are silvers and not pinks?  There should be pinks everywhere out there now.  
Maybe 8 years ago I caught some off the beach on Perry Island in maybe the first week of August.  
In any event, I am going to be towing hoochies about until I find some.
