First let me say I have never ran one of these boats. That being said in my opinion ALWAYS go with a 35 for the Kenai and especially if you are going out in the salt. Things change quickly out there and you want to be able to get back in as fast as possible when (not if) the need arises.
A few people in the boat with halibut gear and toss in 4 or 5 nice halibut and you are going nowhere fast.
