same problem
Posted by cross21114 on May 28 2005
Actually I had the same problem.  A multikeeled aluminum boat with a 130 hp prop.

I waanted to use it on some rocky rivers so had a jet put on against the advice of the shop which was concerned about the profile.  I have had it on for several years.  It was slow out of the hole and cavatated frequently in rough water.

We just got a place at the beach and I will be using in the back bays.  Just yesterday I took it in to have the prop put back on.  This is not an easy job because the engine has to come off to remove the jack plate which was needed to get the jet to the correct elevation.

The jet does not work well in muddy or sandy water or in weeds.  If you suck up some stuff, it wears out the bowl and impeller very quickly and weeds block off the intake.
