I Urge Caution
Posted by Tracey Harmon on May 24 2005
Mr Ed,

I am happy to hear you have had good luck using a water barrier as an emergency patch. But I must tell you a roofer I know here in Anchorage laid this material full length on his Cataraft tubes, then had the material turn "goopy" in the sun. After his employees failed in their attempts to remove the mess I got the job. And what a job it was. The materials in question are not made for the job you have suggested, though they have worked for you. Fortunately there is now a emergency tape which can do the job and is readily available. Stop by Alaska Raft and Kayak. I will be happy to hand you a sample to experiment with.

Happy floating,

Tracey Harmon
