(From the back cover): So you want to bowhunt in Alaska! Great! We hope to see you out in the woods.
It is understood that many people would like to hunt in Alaska but do not know where to begin. From the amount of mail inquiries we receive it is obvious this is true. For this reason this information was put together for you and other members of ABA.
This book provides information on bowhunting in Alaska. It is not intended to give all the answers or specific recommendations on places to go, how to get there or what to do. The ABA does not provide this type of information. There are people in business who do offer these services and contacts for this information are provided for your use. In addition, we may be able to put you in contact with ABA members who have hunted an area in which you are interested.
Be sure to read and understand the current game regulations and unit area map before you plan your trip. There is no excuse for not knowing the conditions and requirements of the game unit you plan to hunt. Don not have your hunt ruined because you were not fully informed. The information in this book is supplemental to regulations and is not intended to take their place.
Quality is a word for hunting in Alaska. We appeal to you to appreciate the land and its game resources that are here to hunt and enjoy. At times there may not be as much game as you expect. This northern land is fragile and cannot produce the number of animals you find in warmer climates. Come and enjoy Alaska. It is a great land with untold stories yet in its grasp. If you do come, give us a call or come by and visit. We would like to hear your stories and share your experiences with you.
