This plan provides an easy-to-build mini grader to pull behind your ATV, car, mini-van, truck or maybe your lawn tractor. This very simple unit uses a 6' or 7' grader wear bar (cutting edge) for the blade and cement blocks for weight. The blade can be raised approx. 2" for easy travel and lowered for grading. Fine tuning the blade depth is easily done by removing or adding blocks and or raising or lowering tire air pressure. Plan is adaptable for various widths. Sample paragraph Step 2. Cut a 54" piece of 2" square tube for the axle and place across the frame in the middle leaving about 3" of axle tube out from each side and weld to frame. Using masking tape, tape off the shinny part of the spindles and slide into the axle. Weld the spindles into the ends of the axles leaving about ¾" of the dark gray metal out past the axle end. After it cools, remove tape. (Square ended spindles work great but cost a little more.) If your spindles fit loose in the axle tube, just set them into a corner and shim the space with small pieces of flat strap, then weld all together. Make sure the spindles are set into the same corner on both sides.
