This plan may be used or adapted for most any size double axle utility /carhauler trailer and includes steps for the optional angle rail, slide-out ramps, spare tire carrier & electric brakes. A 6'10" X 16' double axle 7,000# trailer is pictured. Inset shows slide out ramp and protected rear lights and stake pocket.

Step 2.  Now clamp one of the pieces of 4" channel under the rear (open end of U) with the "C" facing the front leaving approx. 2" sticking out from each side.  Measure for squareness again and weld into place.  Then place the second 4" piece of channel under the frame approx. 16" in front of the other but with the "C" facing the rear and weld.  This will become your ramp tray. (Do not weld on the 2" outside part as you will be placing a 2" strap there later).
