From its opening reminiscence about growing up in a homestead cabin near Glennallen without electricity or running water to an appendix describing how to field dress a moose, Sharon has crafted a book to interest female and male readers alike. "I think women will be interested because I'm doing something that not a lot of women get to do," says the forty-eight-year-old author. "It's a novelty--there aren't very many women guides."

Sharon invites the reader along as she shoots her first moose on her fourteenth birthday, as she earns the respect of her sometimes macho clients, and as she takes a nerve-wracking late night hike through bear country.  Don't be shy: Walk softly with her.
