lakes, and salt water is often anything but a placid experience. Sometimes
anglers are hapless players in a comedy, ducking flying hooks, dodging
competitive bears, and diving n to retrienve runaway fishing poles. You might
say it looks like the Keystone Kops at times. As sports editor for the Anchorage
Daily News, Lew Freedman has heard stories you wouldn't believe. But who says
fishermen are truthful? Here's a collection of Lew's favorites: wacky tales from
the water's edge.
  About
the Author: Lew Freedman is the sports editor of the Anchorage Daily News,
Alaska's largest daily newspaper, and the author of then other books about
Alaska.
A prize-winning sports writer, Freedman is a
native of Boston, Massachusetts, where he attended Boston University. He
also has a master's degree from Alaska Pacific University.
Freedman and his wife, Donna, live in
Anchorage and are the parents of one daughter, Abigail.
