Fishing Information

Here's a large halibut and several smaller, but great eating fish.
It's not uncommon to catch multiple species like
these halibut and salmon.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION Temperatures in this part of southeast Alaska range between 50/70 degrees in the summer - expect rain showers! (Today's temperature and sky conditions are shown at right. Click for forecast) Temperatures are cooler on the water. Lodging ranges from a motel to lodges, to bed & breakfasts, to rooms. Meals range from regular dining, to a diner, to pizza parlors, to delis (about 10 in the Craig/Klawock area)

King salmon fishing is best in May and June and tapers off in July - BUT - the odd stray does show up when least expected! If you catch one and don't have a King Salmon stamp, it will be released!

Weight limitation on float planes is 4O lb./person - additional cost for excess baggage.

Current sport fishing license prices:	$20 for 1 - day	$35 for 3 - days	$55 for 7 - days
Current King salmon stamp prices:	$10 for 1 - day	$20 for 3 - days	$30 for 7 - days

To get here from there: Alaska Airlines provides jet service from Seattle WA (about 600 air miles) to Ketchikan (just under 2 hours flying time). Float planes bring you to Craig or wheel planes to Klawock (about 30 minutes flying time).
