resource-rich Prince of Wales Island. Here salmon schools migrate from the open
Pacific Ocean to the protected waters around the many islands, hidden inlets and bays.
This mass gathering of five species of Pacific salmon is the reason why so many world
sport fishing records have been established in this part of Alaska.

great day's catch of salmon The Craig/Klawock area is particularly noted for its strong runs of trophy size King (Chinook), Silver (Coho), Pink (Humpies), Red (Sockeye) and Chum salmon. This is also a favorite fishing location for giant Alaska Halibut -- which sometimes run over 100 lb. The waters abound with other tasty bottom fish, including Red Snapper, Sea Bass and numerous varieties of Cod. This Alaska fisherman's paradise is still virtually undiscovered.
