BY BOAT
Our fishing charters offer
several options. We bottom fish in coastal ocean waters for Halibut, Rock
fish, Ling Cod, Pacific Cod, and catch several other species. We troll -
mooch - and cast from the boat for ocean traveling Coho (silver) Salmon,
and Chinook (king) Salmon. We fish from shore on beaches, estuaries, and
rivers with spinning gear or fly gear for Coho (silver) Salmon, Sockeye
(red) Salmon, Pink (humpy) Salmon, Chum (dog) Salmon, along with Dolly
Varden Trout and Steelhead. We make sure your sport fishing charter is a
lot of fun and a great adventure!
We specialize in high quality sport fishing charters with groups no larger
than six persons per boat. Our charters depart from two locations: the
village of Port Lions, and from Anton Larsen Bay dock. Anton Larsen Bay is
a beautiful scenic drive fifteen miles from the city of Kodiak. Port Lions
is a remote village twenty miles west of the city of Kodiak.
There are great advantages to departing from either one of these
locations. Both put you on the west side of Kodiak Island, which is much
more protected from the prevailing east winds. Many islands and
passage-ways ensure you can travel and fish calm waters. It also puts you
in a more remote area of Kodiak Island, featuring the historic Raspberry
Straits and Whale Pass waters. This area has a reputation for being one of
the most scenic areas on Kodiak Island. Our most common comments on our
boats are: “Where are the other boats?” and “It’s so quiet!”
Our boats are well maintained and safe. They have an enclosed cabin with
heat and a clean private restroom. Our captains are pleasant, clean cut,
and licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard.
Sport fishing charters include all fishing gear and tackle (except fly
rods, and waders). We provide lunch, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages
(BYOB welcome). On day charters we clean and prepare your fish for
packaging. On our Port Lions vacation packages we provide wrapping,
freezing, and boxing your fish for travel.
