you’ve come to the right place! BRHC is a family run
business with Registered Guide Jake D. Jefferson operating
as your guide. Jake has been guiding hunters since he was 19
and his work has been featured in Outdoor Life, Bear Hunting Magazine,
Professional Hunter Magazine, as well as several TV shows.
His goal is to provide you with top quality service and
satisfaction without getting lost in the shuffle of larger
commercial hunting camps. Since word of mouth is the
greatest advertising, he can’t afford to send home unhappy
clients. The personal attention to your hunt is second to
none. When you hunt with BLACK RIVER you’ll become a name,
rather than a number!
BLACK RIVER HUNTING CAMPS specializes in guided hunts for
Grizzly Bears, Kodiak Brown Bear, Mountain Goat, Sitka Black
tail Deer, Dall Sheep and Black Bears in some of Alaska’s
more rugged and beautiful country. With hunts ranging from
the river bottoms of interior Alaska to the snow crested
peaks of the Talkeetna Mountains, and the grassy hills of
Kodiak Island let BLACK RIVER HUNTING CAMPS take you on a
guided hunting adventure that you will never forget.
The majority of BRHC meals are organic, homemade and made from wild Alaskan Game. BRHC can accommodate most dietary requests.
All of BRHC’s hunts are non-smoking and no alcoholic
beverages are permitted in camp. We ask that any perspective
clients who do smoke/drink prepare for this accordingly and
respect our camp rules.
Hunt Prices
In the interest of staying as unique as possible, we have decided to reformat our pricing options and hunt packages. These new options will allow for hunters to have more opportunity for their money and get a chance to enjoy Alaska like never before, with out the worry of trophy fees for additional animals! Air charter, guide, food, tents and transportation from anchorage to the field and back is included in the price.
Client is responsible for lodging while in town, hunting license ($85), Grizzly tag ($500), Black Bear tags ($225 each) Dall sheep ($425), Sitka Black tail deer tags ($150 each), Mt. Goat ($300), Wolverine ($175)
Hunts taking place before August 8th will be ten days of actual hunting with a travel day on either end, these hunts will allow clients to take up to one Grizzly Bear and three Black Bears with no hidden costs or trophy fees!
May-Aug 8th $12,000 10 hunting days
Hunts that begin after Aug 9th will be 11 days of actual hunting with a travel day on either end AND one move during the hunt if needed. Clients can take up to one Dall Sheep, one Wolf, one Wolverine (after sept 1st) one Grizzly Bear and three Black Bears with no extra costs or trophy fees!
