Hunt with Alaska's best professional guides in
the business. Hunt with
Alaska Guide/Outfitter Matt Snyder, Alaska Hunting
Adventures. Matt has lived in his hunting area since he was 7 years old and
grew up hunting following in the footsteps of his mom and his step-dad, Sue
and Frank Entsminger. Matt and his folks homes are nestled among the peaks
with the sheep. This family's passion for Dall sheep hunting is legendary
throughout Alaska and the lower-48. As a
Class A Assistant
Guide/Outfitter, Frank
Entsminger's name was synonymous with the 40" rams across Alaska while
Matt was still a young boy. As a
Registered
Guide/Outfitter, Sue Entsminger has
been hunting sheep right alongside Frank gaining her own reputation as an
experienced sheep hunter. Both Sue and Frank assist in guiding any of
Matt's clients. Matt trained by some of the best, has become
well known in the guiding field with a trained eye for Dall Sheep.
Matt holds private and commercial pilot's licenses with thousands of hours
of bush flying.

Entsminger accommodations - in the heart of sheep
country

As outfitters go, you could say that Matt is a natural-born hunter with experience in the
Alaska wilderness since 1978. Matt's home is nestled deep in the Eastern
Alaska Range next to the world famous Tok Management Area. Matt specializes
in guiding and outfitting Dall sheep and has taken many outstanding rams over 40 inches. Matt
is a congenial hunting companion with a strong personal commitment to the
safety, comfort and success of his hunters.

The
Alaska Department of Fish and Game Tok Management Area web page shows
the population at approximately 2000 Dall sheep.
This area has been managed especially for trophy quality rams since 1974. Every year the Tok Management Area produces several rams
measuring 40 inches or better. The famous Summar ram (#7 Boone and Crockett
record book, pictured at left below), measuring over 48" was taken here.
This is a drawing permit area with 100 permits issued each year. The
application forms are mailed early November and must be post marked December
6. Results are available in late January. Matt has had a 39"+ ram
average in the
Tok
Management Area.

Because there is a better chance of taking a
larger ram here if you book by November, Matt automatically puts you in for the
Tok Management Area. (see
application) If you are unsuccessful in drawing a permit, Matt also has an
open hunting area for sheep averaging 37 1/2".

Matt's clients have
experienced extremely high success rates on Alaska's top trophies including
Dall sheep, brown, grizzly and black bears, moose, caribou, mountain goat
and wolf. Matt's outfitting business is highly respected.
Every hunt is custom designed to meet your expectations. Matt
uses the best means of transportation to get you into the remote parts of
his hunting area. Matt is an experienced SuperCub pilot. Most
hunting is done in the high country requiring hiking and carrying a pack
with mobile hunting camps. Destination is Tok, Alaska where we
will pick you up. You can fly to Anchorage or Fairbanks, then take a
bus to Tok. Coming from Anchorage, we recommend
Alaska Direct 800-770-6652. Coming from Fairbanks Monday - Friday,
we recommend
40-Mile Air 800-884-0027 or 907-883-5191 or Alaska Direct on Sunday,
Wednesday or Friday.

Matt's hunting areas are truly wild. Where else can hunters see trophy
Dall rams, giant Alaska-Yukon bull moose and prime black bears and
mountain grizzlies all in the same area? All of
the sweat and hard work will be worthwhile when you finally connect on
the trophy that you always dreamed about, taken in the true sprit of
fair chase. You will come as a client, but youšll leave as a friend.
