.44 ammo
Posted by Kirk on Dec 20 2005
Gus, you're asking a valid question no matter what you may be hearing.  I can think of two hunting guides that I know that carry .44 mags in grizzly country at all times, one has been run into during a charge and held his fire and the other killed a grizz with his .44 when things got hand to hand.  So, while a .44 mag is certainly not a bear Hunting gun, nor is it a Stopper round or Backup gun, it can come in handy if a grizz knocks you on your ass and you manage to get a hand free.  Give me an email and I can get you in touch with these guys and they can tell you what they use. They told me but I forgot, it's a load with this use in mind.
