Tires
Posted by Snowwolfe on Aug 30 2005
You can purchase front wheels for the Ranger 6x6 which will fit the Big Boss. The wheels have a different offset and allow you to install a bigger wider tire.
I would be leary about going to 26 in tires on the rear as the engine simply doesnt have the power to effectively use them in the mud. If you had the swingarm extended to allow taller tires the motor would most likely bog down in thick mud. Even though I love my Big Boss its short coming is very low ground clearance. I think the most effective way to make this machine almost unstoppable is to install the factory track kit. The other option is to swap out the stock tires and install mud lites on all wheels. I recently added a set of 26 in mud lites to my King Quad and when son and I were at Eureka last wheel we tried to get it stuck and we couldnt. The King managed to breeze thru 2 mud holes that I got stuck in. I was very very impressed with the tires.
