Terry--I also have a 351 windsor--1985 model. A couple of years ago I purchased a new starter in Anchorage. Not sure if you have the old one for reference or not, but here is where I went:

              Auto Electric Rebuilding and Battery
              1657 E. Dowling Rd.
              Anchorage, Ak           562-9679

If you are starting from scratch with no starter and I can help you with part numbers off of my unit, email me. I am pretty sure these guys can either find you a new one or rebuild your old one.
