Falls Creek Trail Info
Posted by John S on May 04 2005
I spoke with a ranger today from the Chugach National Forest, Seward district about the Falls Creek Trail and the Crown Point Trail.  These are the only trails open in the summer to ATV's in the National Forest (he said)  The trails are located half way between Seward and the highway split to Anchorage and Homer.  He said both trails are steep, like even winching up over a boulder along the trail.  Crown Point switchbacks up a mountain.  He said leaving the trail can be dangerous, they medivaced a guy with a broken leg last year and a couple years back a guy left the Crown Point Trail, lost control and lost (yes lost) his ATV and NEVER FOUND IT AGAIN.  He said he new one guy who made it part way up the Crown Point Trail with a jeep though.  Just thought I'd share the info.  Both of these trails lead to old mining ruins
