As far a plastic tips bullets I have used the nosler bt in test and the performance was as good a most lead bullets -however not the same as the swift or the H bullet nor the speer grand slam.  powder in the R 22 should be a good choice and mabe the r-19   it takes a lot in the 8 but is is one fine long range big bore ...   mabe bwhite will fill you in he shoots three of the big 8s   good shooting.
