450 Fuller
Posted by ridge on May 05 2006
Has anyone ever heard or seen another 1886 or 71 converted to the
450 Fuller?.

I have one out of the Interior. 22 in heavy barrel on a pre-war Deluxe 71-Well made-Johnson Kenai Rifles-(Harold Johnson)
reamers were done by Bill Fuller who was a riflesmith in the 50s-60s.
Marked JKR-450FULLER

Its very close to the Alaskan-longer neck and softer shoulder.

Alaskan dies will re-form a fired case....
Will still push Hawk or Kodiak bonded  400 gr flatpoits to 2000FPS.
Really recommend Hawk bullets-they hang together with 348 Ackley and 450 Wildcats on the 86 and 71.(There is nothing quite like being able to reload a rifle with a loaded chamber and the hammer back ready to go-did it once near Minchumina-) Marlins are OK-but an old 86 or early Winchester 71-is the way to go for the bush.
Thanks

Wulf
