I own a Tikka T3 in a 7mm mag and mounted leupold bases without a hitch. I bought the same gun ia a 30-06 and the screws would not fit. I returned the gun and got another one. Same deal. I called Tikka and Leupold and got the same answer. The screws and threads are standard. I took it to a gunsmith and he confirmed my hunch. THE TREADS IN THE RECIEVER ARE METRIC! My gun dealer looked into it and was told by Tikka that some metric ones entered the American market. My solution was to buy Warne mounts that utilize the dovetail in the reciever. I love them and they are bombproof. They are a vast improvement over the factory mounts. Previous: perserverance wyo_jaybo May 04 2006 Next: Tikka are a tad Tricky...
